It is processed from the cocons of wild butterflies which are allowed to flee the cocon before it is processed into silk. Thus Tussah Tweed can be called a "cruelty-free silk". Tussah Tweed is very stable and feels a bit rough at the beginning, but gets softer and softer the more you wash and wear it.
